Our Live Foal Guarantee
All Broken A Stallions come with either a LFG (live foal guarantee) or a LCFG (live COLORED foal guarantee) dependant upon the stallion. If your mare fails to deliver a live foal that can stand and nurse unassisted, you may choose to receive a refund of your breeding fee (less the booking fee) or you may re breed your mare to the same stallion with no additional booking or breeding fee in the immediate following season (or current season should it be early enough in the year and the vet deems your mare healthy enough to re breed – proof of this will be required). We will also consider breeding a different mare, on an approved basis. Mare Care will still apply.
Extended Live Foal Guarantee
At the Broken A we know how heart wrenching it is to lose a foal after anticipating its arrival for almost a year. I have seen similar guarantees elsewhere and find that it is something I am proud to offer you. Should the unthinkable happen and your foal dies for any reason (with the exception of abuse or neglect) within the first 12 months of age we will give you a re breeding to the same stallion at 50% off his current stud fee. If for some reason we no longer have that stallion, we will consider letting you breed to one of our other stallions with a comparable stud fee. Mare care and booking charges will apply.
Mare Owner Information
Please be aware we breed on an approved basis only. Just because your mare has all of the required documentation, does not guarantee a breeding to one of our stallions. HYPP H/H or H/N mares will not be accepted for breeding under any circumstances. Proof of testing if your mare carries the Impressive line will be required. We are HAPPY to accept your Impressive bred N/N mares and offer a 5% discount on them.
For best consideration, please email us the following PRIOR to booking your mare;
Current pictures and or video of your mare. These must be less than 30 days old and must include conformation (front, side & back views) pictures so we can accurately see how our stallion will compliment your mare.
Current Registration documents (copies are acceptable) and Show Record information (if any)
HYPP/HERDA Testing documentation if applicable. Please note that Herda carriers are not automatically rejected but will be considered on a case by case basis.
Mare Drop off Requirements
In order for your mare to come onto our property, you need to meet the following requirements:
* You MUST have a thirty (30) day clean uterine culture with no exceptions. We recommend that your vet perform a cytology smear in conjunction with an endometrial culture for the most accurate testing. There is more information on this subject here.
* All mares must be free from disease or infection that could be transmitted to any of the horses on our premises. You will need to provide a current health certificate, showing Mare (and foal) to be free from disease or infection and sound for breeding purposes.
* Your Mare must be halter broken, manageable, current on their hoof care and have rear shoes removed.
* Current Coggins less than 6 months old (considerations are made to brood mares with current nursing foal at side) with yearly Coggins paperwork.
*Up To Date (UTD) on shots and worming. We recommend using a Power Pack worming schedule within 30 days of breeding.
* We do not consider mares under 3 years of age for breeding under any circumstance. 3 year old mares will be evaluated on a case by case basis. We recommend you begin breeding your mares at age 4 for the best possible results.
* Mare care is currently $8 per day dry and $10 wet.
We reserve the right to refuse to breed Mare for reason of ill health or temperament dangerous to our stallion or handlers.
Current Breeding Discounts! – Up to 2 discounts per mare booked may apply.
Early Booking Discount – Book your mare by January 15th and your booking fee of $150 is waived!
HYPP N/N Discount – With your Impressive bred mare, HYPP N/N documentation receives an automatic 5% off your stud fee!
Multi Mare Discount – take 10% off the stud fee for each additional approved mare in a given breeding season.

Returning Clients - Take 20% off your stud fee! To be considered a returning client and be eligible for this discount, you must have bred your mare to one of our stallions within the 2 years prior to the current breeding season.
Referral Program – Book your mare and refer a friend who also books their mare and receive 10% off your stud fee for that year. Applicable only if both mares are bred in the current season.
